For today’s outfit post I’m bringing you must have items you don’t want to forget when packing your carry on bag. A few months ago when I received this Weekender Bag from My Purse Connection I knew it was going to be my go to carry on bag, and I’m finally going to have the chance to use it as a carry on bag when I leave for Mexico in a few weeks!
It’s of sturdy quality that can hold up to the stresses of travelling, and it’s the perfect size. It also has lot’s of great pockets both inside and out. You may have noticed my favourite pocket at the bottom which is also perfect for wet clothes after hot yoga or the gym!
With a vacation creeping up soon I’ve been thinking about what I need to pack and have compiled this fully loaded carry on bag packing list with a free printable download below. When packing your carry on bag it’s important to consider the chance of your luggage being lost. You want to keep all of your important documents, toiletries, and medication with you, as well as some spare clothes and things to keep you warm. You also want to make sure you have all of your entertainment and comfort needs covered.
- Flight Ticket
- Copy of Flight Itinerary
- Hotel Confirmation
- Copy of Visa Confirmation
You’re going to want to keep your important documents secured in your carry on. It’s good to keep copies of confirmations just in case something comes up and your confirmation gets lost. I recommend keeping these together in a front zippered pocket like the one above so it’s easy to access and nothing falls out when you go to grab something.
- Hand Cream
- Face Wipes
- Tooth Brush & Tooth Paste
- Essential Oils
You’re going to want to keep all of your basic health and beauty essentials with you. If you’re on a long flight you may use them while you’re in the air, but they’re also good to keep with you just in case your luggage is lost – especially any medications. Essential oils can be good to bring to help you calm flight anxiety, help you sleep, etc.
Make sure to keep all of your liquids to under 3.4 oz and keep them together within a clear plastic bag.

- Colouring Books & Pencil Crayons
- Deck of Cards
- Paper & Pen
- Tablet/Portable DVD Player
- Phone/MP3 Player/iPod
- Portable Charger & Cord
Everyone needs some form of entertainment on a flight. I personally like to take advantage of time spent on the flight by journalling. It’s something I struggle to do in my day to day life so I love to squeeze it in when I can.
Colouring books are also a great way to be creative and keep yourself in a calm meditative state. Make sure to remember a back up charger/charging bank and your headphones.
- Water Bottle
I always bring an empty water bottle so I can fill it once I clear customs without having to buy an overpriced bottle of water. Pillows aren’t neccessarily needed for shorter flights, but a hat and sunglasses can help you keep to yourself so you can catch some z’s.
- Warm Socks
- Large Scarf
- 1 – 2 Changes of Clothes
- Special Occasion Outfit
- Bathing Suit
It’s always important to keep in mind that your luggage may be lost, and you don’t want to get stuck at your location with only the clothes on your back. You’re going to want a few changes of clothes for when you get there, and a few items (warm socks and large scarf) to keep you warm while on your flight.
