I’ve been on the search to find the perfect lippy. Lucky for you, I do all the leg work and searching and you get to check out my different lipstick reviews. The perfect lipstick for me has the right balance of pigment, moisture, and wearability. The Colorlicious Covergirl Lipsticks cover most of those marks. If you like this post, then I recommend checking out my Drugstore Beauty Review and Top 10 Beauty Essentials.
The Colorlicious lipsticks are highly pigmented. I like how they split up their 36 shades into different colour families: smooth nudes, rich reds, yummy plums, and luscious pinks. Originally I had bought one from each colour family, but unfortunately when it came time to write the blog post I couldn’t find Delicous from the yummy plum family. If you’re interested in what it looks like you can check out my Instagram post featuring it. It’s actually one of my favourite shades out of all of them, sorry I can’t find it! These lipsticks are so well pigmented, they actually leave a tint after reapplying a couple of times at the beginning of the day.
- 225 Dulce De Leche
A little light for my skin tone, I’m not the biggest fan of this shade.
- 280 Decadent Peach
I really liked this shade, it’s a great peachy tone for spring and summer.
- 395 Darling Kiss
A nice soft, pigmented pink for when I’m feeling girly.
- 292 Candy Apple
This red shade has gold flakes in it giving it a nice pop. I’m not a fan of this shade for daytime, but I think it’d be fun for evening wear.
- 310 Seduce Scarlet
I think I finally found a red colour that I like for simple daytime wear – I’m so happy to have finally found a shade! It can be quite hard for me to find a good red because of all of the red in my skin tone.
This lipstick is so smooth and buttery, I absolutely love how it feels on my lips. It keeps the moisture in my lips, and doesn’t dry them out throughout the day. This formula is great, I wish they could create matte lipsticks that felt the same way on the lips – if you guys have any recommendations for non-drying matte lipsticks I’d love to hear about em, drop me a comment below.
This is the one category that I am not 100% satisfied in. It isn’t sticky, which is a big plus – I hate when my hair sticks to my face because of my lip product, but unfortunately it isn’t kiss proof. I tried putting tissue on it, then powder over that, but it didn’t make a huge difference in making it smudge proof, although it lasted longer after setting it.
Overall I’m really happy with the Colorlicious Covergirl Lipsticks, and would rate them at 8 / 10. They are pigmented, moisturizing, and fairly longlasting. They were only lacking in the smudge proof department, and you can’t always have everything in one package. If you know of any tricks to make your lipstick smudge proof please let me know in the comments below.
