Healthy Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins

Healthy muffin recipe filled with flax and chia seeds. 

Servings 12 muffins

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup honey, agave or other liquid sweetener
  • 1/2 cup vegetable or canola oil
  • 2 medium ripe bananas mashed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 2/3 cup all purpose whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup ground flax seed
  • 1/4 cup chia seeds
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375.

  2. Mix all of your dry ingredients together (excluding chocolate chips), and mix all of your wet ingredients together.

  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients. Once combined mix in chocolate chips. 

  4. Spoon mixture evenly into muffin pan. The recipe should make 12 average sized muffins. 

  5. Bake for 18 - 22 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean and muffins are rounded on top. 

  6. Remove muffins from pan and let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
