I wanted to paint some cute spring nails when I thought of this Easter egg inspired spring nail art. This design is really simple to do and is great for beginners and all skill levels. The great things about it is you can actually cover up your mistakes as you do it! You don’t need any fancy tools either, just some nail polish and toothpicks. You can have fun with this and use the colours you like and have on hand. You could switch it up and do a light yellow base coat with pink and orange eggs, or any combination you choose. You can keep your dots on the same area of your nail for every nail, or you can do it like I did and switch up the areas to cover up your smudge marks – I’m really bad at letting my nail polish dry all the way before using my hands!
I’m going to apologize ahead of time for the quality of the images. I tried something new by making a video and I took the images from that, and they didn’t turn out as focussed as I would have liked, but it was fun trying the video. Let me know if you’d like to see more posts like this in the comments below.
- Base coat (if you choose)
- White (or a light colour) nail polish for the base coat
- 2 – 4 pastel (or any spring colour) nail polish
- Top coat (if you choose)
Paint your base coat if you’d like to.
Do as many coats as you need to for a white base coat. I try to paint a few thin coats, rather than 1 or 2 thick coats, to cut down on drying time. This time I did 3 coats.
Pour out one of your chosen nail polish colours on a piece of paper. Use a toothpick to dab dots of it on your nail in a slightly spaced out cluster in one area of your nail.
Repeat step 3 for as many other pastel colours you have chosen.
Seal it all in with a clear top coat if you want to.
See, nice and simple! I hope you enjoyed this spring nail art idea. If you end up doing it please let me know through social media. On Instagram you can tag me, @HappyStylishFit and use #HSFLife, or share it to me my Facebook page.
