I used to wear lots of bright colours with makeup, but over the past few years I’ve migrated towards my tried and true neutral tones. I don’t know if it’s an as you get older kind of thing, or if it’s just the way makeup trends have progressed, but I rarely stray away from my neutral tones and I’m totally ok with it. This makeup look is something that I wear on a regular basis, and originally I filmed this tutorial as a no-makeup makeup look, but after editing it I’ve changed it to a Nudes Makeup look, because it isn’t quite as no-makeupy as I would have liked. I’ll save that for a later video.

Being a big neutral fan, I’m always on the lookout for new neutral palettes. Which tbh is silly because I already have several and really don’t need anymore, but what’s a product junkie blogger to do? Find new products of course! There are so many great neutral palettes out there. Obviously there are the well known Urban Decay Naked Palettes, but there are quite a few other great nude palettes without the $60+ price tag. The one used in the video is from Essence Cosmetics. It’s a great price point at just $7 and it’s European which makes it cruelty free, win win! Essence is a great brand with decent quality products at a really affordable price. You may remember me talking about them in this mascara review, or eyeliner tips posts, I can’t help it, I tend to wear their products on constant repeat, it’s rare I’ll put makeup on and not use one of their products.

There ya have it, a nice nudes makeup look using primarily affordable drugstore products. Stay tuned for a girls night out makeup tutorial coming up in a few weeks, and make sure to check out Makeup Tip Monday. I tried out LipSense for the first time and I think I’ve fallen in love!
