As I’ve been shifting more and more towards all natural products, I have found it hard to find a good quality, natural hair care brand. That is, until I found out about Monat from Brenda and Nature’s Hair Care.
From the first sample I tried I was immediately hooked and have now completely switched to an all natural hair care routine. All of the products are free of parabens, sulfates, phthalates, and so many more of those not so good ingredients. Check out the video, or read below for my natural hair care routine that leaves my hair nice and healthy, and make sure to scroll to the bottom to check out our GIVEAWAY!!

Weekly Routine
Shampoo & Conditioner
Currently I shampoo and condition my hair twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays, but after using the Monat Revive and Revitalize products for a few weeks I think I’m going to expand it to washing my hair roughly every 5+ days. I’ve been really amazed at how little grease appears in my hair a few days after washing. It really goes to show how gentle the products are that your hair isn’t trying to replenish it’s own oils in the same way as more traditional shampoos and conditioners cause your hair to do.

Dry Shampoo
I generally dry shampoo the last day or so before I need to wash my hair again. The trick for a super nice volumized, you would never guess it’s 3+ day old hair, is to give it some extra oomph with a hair dryer. It takes a couple minutes and makes a huge difference!
- Spray your dry shampoo
- Let dry for a couple of minutes
- Rub throughout your hair with your hair flipped upside down
- Blow dry the roots of your hair using a round brush
Weekly Hair Mask
Every week I try to give my hair a treat with a nice hair mask. Lately I’ve been using the Monat Rejuvenique oil. I try to oil my dampened hair and tie it up in a bun for as long as possible. I learned this trick from Marissa Lace, and it’s genius! You can wear your hair in a hair mask all day long while you run errands, and no one will be the wiser!
Hair Care Tips
Hair Oil While Styling
An awesome time that I talked about in my 7 tips for curling your hair post, is to use hair oil on the ends of your hair before and after you use heat. Make sure you don’t use too much oil, you don’t need any more than a nickel sized amount.

Dry Your Hair With a Tshirt
Reduce frizz by drying your hair with a tshirt, rather than a towel. It’s much more gentle on your hair, and still works great at absorbing water.
Sleep With Your Hair in a Bun
Another great way to reduce frizz and keep some volume to your hair is to slick it up, and twirl it into a top knot. It’ll end up messy by the morning, but it helps reduce frizz and that flat look from lying on it all night.

i only wash my hair every 3-4 days; I think washing it every day is hard on it!
I was every 3rd day too!
To keep my hair healthy, I wash it every other day. I also try not to blow dry and to let my hair air dry.
Great tips doll. I use dry shampoo before I go to bed in between washes. I typically wash my hair 1-2 times a week.
Love all these tips! My hair health routine involves washing only every 6ish days, no blow drying or heat, using scrunchies instead of hair ties, not brushing my hair when wet, and wearing a shower cap when I am not washing it (plus using the tshirt like you said!). 🙂
I use a deep oil conditioner once a week!
I love natural products sometimes it’s hard to find a good one! And I love to use dry shampoo and prolong washing my hair then using a nice deep conditioner to bring it back to life 🙂 ?? This was a great read
I never would’ve thought to give hair that extra oomph with a hair dryer after using dry shampoo. Smart! x

I really want to try to get to the point where I only have to wash my hair after 3 days.
To keep my hair healthy, I wash it twice a week and use cold water to rinse and blast the cool setting on my hairdryer to dry!
You hair looks great! Thank you for sharing with us.
Isn’t That Charming.
