As moms, we wear many hats, and often times one of those hats is family photographer. When we’re behind the lens documenting all of those memories, it can be hard to get photos of us with our families. We want those photos in our homes and in albums, and as our children grow old and we’re not around as much anymore, they will look back on them to remember their childhood and favourite family memories. They deserve to see their moms with them.┬áThat’s why I think it’s so so important to take the time and invest in family photography.

When Logan was born it was a hectic time of the year and we had a lot on our plate. We decided not to do newborn photography and I regret that decision every time I see someones beautiful newborn photos. Once the moment has passed, it’s gone, and only photos and mementos remain so I urge you to take the time and invest in those photos and memories. You can always wait or do without that certain thing, but photos truly are priceless.

If you’re on a budget, keep your eyes open for mini sessions that many photographers offer in collaboration with different local business and at markets. That’s how I was able to get Mothers Day Mommy and Me photos with Logan. You can also save up, or ask for a nice photography package for a birthday or Christmas gift (that’s my plan!). Because you really can’t compare with how a professional photographer is able to capture that young innocence of your little and how much love is within your family <3

I’ve been lucky enough to meet and partner with a local photographer, Amanda Haddow for a recent giveaway and she was able to capture these quick shots for us and I am forever grateful. Amanda specializes in maternity, newborn, and family photography and is such a lovely person and easy to work with. Her photos are absolutely beautiful and I definitely want to book her for a shoot when we have our next little one. If you’re in the Victoria area and wanting to get family photos done you should check her out!
