Happy Tuesday everyone, and welcome to my first Fashion Tuesday post – Layering a Fringe Vest. I still have to figure out the name of the series, but every Tuesday in February I will have a fashion/weekly check in type of post for you. Fashion is a huge part of me, and I want to make it a big part of the blog, while featuring other types of content at the same time. I think this will be a good way of creating that balance. I’d love to hear your thoughts, please leave me a comment below.
Last week was a crazy week for me. Work was absolutely nuts all week, and kept me pretty busy and stressed out. It’s insane how long my work to-do list can get! It’d be so easy for me to slip into crazy anxiety and stress mode by being so overwhelmed with everything I have to do, organize, and make sure goes ok.
But instead I try to focus on smaller tasks. Each day I try to focus on getting certain priority things done. I try my best to get them all done, but sometimes I couldn’t. Sometimes extra unexpected things would come up. Sometimes I’m just not able to get things done. Sometimes I feel my chest tighten thinking about work, school, deadlines, organizing trips, saving money, and so many other things. But every time I start to feel like this I try and pause, and remember I am doing my best, and that’s all I can ask for.
I know I can’t be hard on myself, and feel bad for not doing more. All I can ask of myself is to do my best, and continually improve. If that sales analysis, or website updates don’t get finished for work, it’s ok, I’ll have more time to get it done later. If I have to stay late to get things ready for my staff for the weekend, it’s ok, it doesn’t happen everyday and that’s just part of the job. If I didn’t get around to doing my workouts, it’s ok, I have a plan to make it happen next week.
Things come up, sh*t happens, life goes on, and it’s important not to beat yourself for not being able to do everything you want to.
I feel like it’s important for me to recognize my limits. Although limits are meant to be pushed, and goals should be big, and dreams even bigger, I know I have to be ok with not achieving everything all the time. As much as I want to take on the world, become a full time blogger, finish school, and get a house with Matt, I have to take everything one step at a time. Focus on the small steps, rather than get overwhelmed with the big picture. As long as I know I’ve done my best, I’m ok with it. As long as I continually learn, and set more goals, I’m ok with it. Life’s what you make of it, and I certainly don’t want to make it any harder on myself than it already is.
