Festival Hair Tutorial – 3 Braided Hairstyles

Festival season is here marking the beginning of warmer weather. I’ve been going to festivals for years, and they’re always so much fun. The energy is incredible and it’s fun to dress up with a classic festival exaggerated boho look  like the leggings one I styled on Wednesday.

Not only is it fun coming up with a cute outfit, I also love styling festival hair. If you’ve been following me for a while now you probably know I love braids. I may have written 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5+ posts about them, and festival/concert braids are my favourite to style which is why I’ve brought you this post showing you 3 braided festival hairstyles.

These braids vary in skill level from beginner to more intermediate. If you find the multiple dutch braids difficult you can always swap them out for a single french or dutch braid. Take your time and keep practicing, they do get easier.

Today we’ll start with a cute half up half down hair style that was inspired by one of Kalyn Nicholson’s Instagram posts. Then I’ll show you how to do a triple braided hairstyle that has 3 different options, ponytail, half up top knot, or half up triple space buns. I think the triple little buns are super cute and give me a major Spice Girls vibe! Then the last hairstyle is a really cute mohawk style done with buns. This one is great if you like to keep your hair nice and secure and out of the way, yet still look cute.

All of these braids require minimal supplies. All you need is:

  • Pointy ended comb
  • Small clear elastics
  • Hair elastics
  • Bobby pins
  • Texturizing spray
