February Ipsy Review

Wow I can’t believe it’s been 3 month’s since I’ve written a subscription box review! I’m also doing something a little different this time by including a video below. Please let me know in the comments if you like these kind of posts. If I get enough good feedback I’ll make an effort to do a different box at least every 2 months.

Subscription Box: Ipsy Glam Bag
Month: February 2017
Cost: $9.99 USD,  CAD $20ish including shipping
Recurrence: Monthly

February Ipsy Review featuring Luxie Brushes, Elizabeth Mott Bronzer, Rosa Noir Hand Cream, The Organic Pharmacy Lip and Eye Cream, and Law Beauty Essentials Nail Polish.

#1 Beauty Essentials Nail Polish

Law Beauty Essentials

This nail polish gets it right with pretty much all of the things I look for in a nail polish. It’s vegan, 5-free, toxic free, and is hopefully long lasting.  I haven’t worn it long enough to say for myself, and I only put it on my toes which isn’t really comparable to fingers, but Ipsy says it lasts roughly 5 days before chipping. I received Peri or Whatever which is a periwinkle neautraly type shade that I absolutely love. The other two available colours, Leave a Text, and Smoking Mauve, are super cute too, I want them all! Value $9.00 USD.

#2 Rose Gold Blush Brush 514

Luxy Beauty

I’m always super happy to see brushes in Ipsy bags because they’re always sooo nice! It’s really soft, and with synthetic bristles it’s also 100% vegan. Hello new highlighter brush! Value $23.54 USD, 30% off coupon code included.

#3 Whatup Beaches Matte Bronzer

Elizabeth Mott

This matte bronzer is super creamy and blends nicely. It also builds well and looks very natural, I’m really impressed with it! I’m curious to see if their Show Me Your Cheeks blush to see if it’s made from the same creamy matte formula, have any of you tried it? I also wasn’t able to find out much about what it’s made of. The ingredients weren’t listed in some top 20 toxic lists so that’s good, and it’s cruelty free, but there’s still alot of ingredients that I’m unsure of so I don’t know how natural it is. Value for full size $25 USD, 50% off coupon code also included!

#4 Lip & Eye Cream

The Organic Pharmacy

This eye cream surprised me. I’ve received eye cream in previous bags but found that they didn’t seem to do too much. The first impression is that it is much thicker than what I expected, and I did notice that my skin felt like it was “firming”, but to be fair I’ve only used it once.

I was hesitant to try it on my lips, and it does smell a little funny, but it actually smoothed out my lips almost instantly and they feel moisturized and plump. Oh and I almost forgot to mention that it’s all-natural, organic, and cruelty free. This stuff is like the miracle cream! Value $48.00 USD.

#5 Hand and Body Milk

Rosa Noir

This hand cream is nice and floraly smelling with hints of rose, hibiscus, and fig. It’s a lighter formula then most hand creams which lets it quickly absorb into the skin and dry. It’s also cruelty free and free of parabens, sulphates, and synthetic dyes. Value for full size $36.00, 25% off coupon code also included.

Total value approximately $114.54 USD!

As you can probably tell, I’m quite happy with the February Ipsy Glam Bag. Like I mention in the video, the more you review, the better your bags are going to get.

You also may have noticed that all of the items are cruelty free. Ipsy does not guarantee that all items you receive will be cruelty free or all natural. That being said the vast majority of everything I’ve received is cruelty free and free of harsh toxins.

If the fact that they don’t guarantee cruelty free is holding you back from signing up, I would personally go for it. Like I said most products are cruelty free and you can continuously send them feedback requesting cruelty free products, but if that’s against how you feel then all the power to you 🙂

Ipsy is really great at listening to feedback. The more people that make the requests, the more they will move towards completely cruelty free.
